Vacation in China: Arriving in Shanghai

After 15 hours flying, we finally arrived in Shanghai. It felt so good to keep my feet on the ground. It took only 5 minuets going through immigration inspection and another 10 minutes to claim the luggage. The Pudong Airport is so big that my brother got lost and went to another Intl's flight exit. We finally met and got ready to drive back to TunXi (My hometown). (Click the pic to view larger)

Going through Chinese Immigration Inspection at Shanghai PuDong Airport was quick and smooth. The Immigration officer was very polite and efficient.

Shanghai is the largest city in China with over 20 million people, and has been described as the "showpiece" of the world's fastest-growing economy. I lived in this city for 2 years many years ago. It has changed beyond my recognition.

Nanking Street is the main shopping street of Shanghai and is one of the world's busiest shopping streets.

After another 6 hours driving, it was almost midnight when we arrived in TunXi. It was raining. My sister-in-law Qing told me it's been rainig for 20 days. My jetleg was not as bad as I expected. I was able to sleep at night and woke up in the morning at Beijing time.

Picture taken from the window of my brother's house this morning. It's still raining outside.
